how does this vaporizer actually work?

Simply pull the top of the Aluminum Vapor Bat VG Vaporizer apart, then place your blend on the filling screen inside the unit. Finally, put the 2 parts back together on and start taking slow, steady breathes while applying a standard lighter with the flame intake hole that is located on the side.This puts the hole in clear view, making it very easy to position the flame properly.

Does this actually make it into a vapor or does it just make it come out in smoke, im asking becaquse i cant inhale smoke my dr. said in need to switch to a vaporizer?
