Huntington Beach, CA-Got Vape’s Promo Team cruised down to the US Open of Surfing on Sunday August 7th, 2011 in Huntington Beach. Over 500,000 people filled the beach and streets to watch the top surfers in the world compete for over $200,000 in prize money.
We showed up at 6 a.m. to park the Got Vape Van in a prime location next to Jack’s Surfboards on Main Street. People were able to see the Van shining from the Pier while our reps kept busy handing out free Got Vape promo items.
Our new Got Vape Ping Pong Balls and Pens were a huge hit, along with our typical favorites like lanyards, stickers, Vaporizer Educational Brochures, and Got Vape Wipes.
A ton fans from both Facebook and Twitter showed up to support Got Vape and pose for pictures as well.
According to Amy Johnson, one of our loyal fans, “I’ve been following Got Vape on Facebook for years; I love how you guys always do contests for prizes! I wanted these Got Vape Ping Pong Balls forever. I’m grateful Got Vape hooked me up with a free set at the US Open.”
Throughout the day, the promo team strolled around the different areas at US Open. We made our way into the vendor village to check out the booths from companies such as Nike, Hurley, Red Bull, and Transworld Surf.
By 3pm, we headed up to the pier to film the Men’s Surfing final, featuring 10 time world champ, Kelly Slater. The crowd erupted on the beach when Kelly Slater was declared the winner, I ran down to the beach to congratulate him and provide him with a Got Vape gift bag!
After a long successful day of promotional work, the Got Vape Promo team cooled off inside of Sharkey’s Bar and Grill, see you all in Huntington Beach next year.
