Katchafire, Tomorrows Bad Seeds @ Vault 350
By: Kahinano Donlin
Long Beach, CA - Got Vape held it down with our famous “Green Room” Program at the Vault 350 in Orange County. International Reggae stars Katchafire, headlined the sold out show.
Hidden Music Entertainment also brought along rising talents Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds, Bonnafide, and Hooliganz. It was very enlightening to see how excited these artists became when I showed them the health benefits of vaporization throughout the night.
The Got Vape Van rolled out around 6pm. Once we pulled up to the Vault 350, the line was already wrapped around the corner all the way to the parking complex! Without a doubt, this was going to be a special performance.
The Got Vape Crew had no problems getting into the venue, thanks to Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds manager Steban.
We set up all of the marketing material, including Got Vape Banners and Posters, in no time. Everyone backstage also wanted one of the special GV lanyards, they are a must have for any event.
We had our first volcano session with Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds. This band has been gaining huge popularity due to their uplifting sound and stage presence. All of the boys were impressed by the efficiency of the vaporizer.
One of the main points that stood out was when I told them about how Vaporization produces a cooler vape rather than smoke from traditional methods.
I also explained how that allows you to use it before the show and not leave your throat messed up before a performance. Right before the band left to perform, we had a couple of the Katchafire band members join us as well.
I got a really good feedback throughout the night from all the celebs backstage.
“I can feel the difference in my lungs and throat when I use the Vape. I had no idea vapor was different than smoke so I’m a huge fan of Got Vape now!” Said TBS lead singer Moi.
Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds set up the crowd perfectly for the main act, Katchafire. All of their fans could be heard singing to reggae hits like, “Vices” and “Warrior Poet.” The Got Vape Crew was right there backstage while they rocked the Vault 350 for about 30 minutes.
The band is made up of Matt/Guitar, Johnny/Drums, Al/Bass, and Moi/Vocals. I have been a TBS fan for a very long time, so I loved that the sold out crowd was vibing along with the band. Once they finished the set, we all headed downstairs to the VIP section in anticipation of Katchafire.
Around midnight, Katchafire made their way on stage and the crowd went off. I wasn’t surprised since they have sold out every show on this current US tour! The sound of all these epic musicians playing together is amazing.
The set included classic songs like, “Hey Girl" “Get Away” “Collie Herb Man.” However, everyone at the show was most impressed with the tracks from the new album, “Say What You’re Thinking.”
The whole Got Vape Crew was blessed to be watching the show from backstage. We had a chance to see this band keep the show rocking for over an hour. After two encores, Katchafire packed up the equipment and made their way downstairs to celebrate a job well done. The final Got Vape Green Room session lasted for 3 hours!
We want to thank all the Katchafire members Tere Ngarua, Jordan Bell, Jamey Ferguson, Haani Totorewa, Logan Bell, Grenville Bell, and Leon Davey for being down with Got Vape. The band finally left the Vault 350 around 3am. I made sure to hook them up with one of our vaporizers so that they can start vaporizing and staying healthy.
The band will be back in Cali in August; Got Vape is looking forward to their return.
According to their web site, the band has toured Australia, the UK, Europe, the US and New Caledonia and has played at festivals with international reggae acts such as Mr. Gang, Horace Andy, Moonraisers, Gentleman and was the only Pacific act to tour with artists Arrested Development, The Wailers, Maxi Priest and UB40 as part of the 2008 Raggamuffins.
