Lil Wayne headlines Got Vape / Tucson Takeover 2008

Tucson, AZ - The most anticipated event of the year in AZ, Tucson Takeover 2008, went off with a crowd of more than 10,000 people!
The Lil Wayne fans poured into Tucson Convention Center steadily from 8-10pm, the place was packed, constantly screaming out “Weeze” chants.
Got Vape’s Marketing presence was all over the entire arena. The set up crew placed banners all over the arena including the front stage.
By 6pm, Got Vape was all over the event and ready for Lil Wayne to show up.
Around 9pm Lil Wayne’s Tour Bus pulled up into the arena. The good people at Got Vape had been chilling in the Green Room, so when Wayne arrived we hooked up the VIP’s big time with water, aluminum grinders, T-shirts and Got Vape lanyards.
The main production company, Royal Epic, recognized the value of the Lanyards so the production used them for all of the backstage passes.
With a strong group of opening artists, the crowd was enjoying the show while eagerly waiting for Lil Wayne to get on stage!
The entire VIP area had everyone geared up in black and pink Got Vape lanyards. We also stoked them out with lighters, stickers, and other Got Vape Swag. By 11:30pm, the thousands of Lil Wayne fans were in for a big performance.
Instead of waiting to come out of the dressing room, Lil Wayne and his entourage chilled in his tour bus. Luckily the Got Vape Van was parked right next to the tour bus.
We were able to arrange a quick meeting with Weeze before he went on stage. The first topic of conversation was how much he liked the wrap on the van. “Shit that red & black on your van is hard, what you all do?”

When I told him about the volcano vaporizer that we are giving him, he was stoked. “Man make sure you send me one of those to try out.” said Weeze
Lil Wayne performed a wide range of songs, taking each fan on a musical journey though all of his hits. Tracks from his first album, “The Block is Hot,” had the old school fans bouncing around like crazy.
However, when Weeze dropped songs from his new album, “Tha Carter 3,” all of the new fans in the crowd added another level of energy to his performance.
As someone who was watching the show right by the stage, Weeze made all the girls fall for him when he busted out the guitar! The entire VIP section had girls screaming at the top of their lungs.
By the time the lights went on, the entire crowd chanted out for an encore. Not one to disappoint, Lil Wayne busted out another one of his club bangers and ended off the entire Tucson Takeover 08 proper style!
It took around 30 minutes for the event to clear out, I saw everyone involved with a huge gleaming smiles on their face.
With this successful show done we packed up, we rolled out of the convention center. Now it’s onto the official after party at Club Pearl.
