Got Vape at 28th Annual Bob Marley Ragga Muffins Festival
By Kahinano Donlin
Long Beach, CA - Got Vape sponsored the VIP Green Room at the 28th Annual Ragga Muffins Festival at the Long Beach Convention Center on Feb 22nd, 2009. Our promotion team had exclusive access to teach all of the Reggae artists about Vaporization.
Over 25,000 people made their way to the show to see some of the biggest names in Reggae such as Groundation, SOJA, Lee “Scratch” Perry, and Stephen Marley.
At 11am, there was a massive line of reggae fans waiting for the show to start. The doors opened up at Noon, so we had the promo team posted outside, distributing Got Vape Health brochures, stickers, and Vaporizer tri-folds.
A high volume of patrons had heard of Got Vape before, but there were many more people who were new to our Vaporization movement. Our Got Vape experts explained the ideology of Vaporizing.
After we finished outside, the Got Vape Crew rolled into the arena to continue our promotion inside the event. We spent a few hours, navigating through the event, meeting new people along the way.
“I’ve heard some of my friends talk about Vaporizers, but I had no idea that there were so many different types to choose from. I’m definitely going to check out the web site and watch the Vaporizer promo videos!” Said Crystal Clark, one of the many Got Vape fans we made at the show.
By 4pm, the crowd was getting even bigger in anticipation of the many Reggae legends like Groundation, and Stephen Marley about to perform. We were backstage meeting with the performers, when we ran into Reggae Icon’s Steel Pulse’s high profile bassist, Amlak Tafari.
Our friend, Amlak, was thrilled to see us! He raved about his Vaporizer that he received from Got Vape at the Steel Pulse show last year. Amlak said, “I noticed the different effect that Vaporizing produces within the first week.
Our promo team set up our Got Vape posters, banners, and health brochures inside the Green Room. VIP’s and artists huddled into the backstage area to sample our new portable Vaporizer, the iolite, which was all the rave because of it pocket sized design and no batteries.
Stephen Marley took the stage around 8pm. He performed a number of songs from his Grammy Award winning album, Mind Control.
While finishing off his set, he brought his brothers Julian, Damien, and Ziggy to perform his father’s reggae anthem, “One Love.” After his performance, the Got Vape team had a chance to meet Stephen Marley inside his tour bus and chat about Vaporization. Stay tuned for the full interview.
At 10pm, Lee “Scratch” Perry finished off the festival and performed an encore for the thousands of fans at the show.
After the show ended, we were invited by the Groundation Crew to have a Vape session at the after party in their hotel. It was a great opportunity to show them the functionality and features of their new V-Tower Hands Free Digital Vaporizer.
“I can’t believe this V-Tower Vaporizer has so many sweet features. The ground glass swivel whip, digital read-out, and timer, make this Vaporizer top notch. Now we can vaporize on the road and in the studio without worrying about leaving it on.” Explained Marcus Urani of Groundation.
