Seattle Hempfest Report 2008
Seattle, WA - The Got Vape Crew made our way to Seattle for the Annual Hempfest Celebration at Myrtle Edwards Park on August 16-17, 2008. This year we were graced with beautiful sunny skies on both days, allowing the whole city to come out to this unique event.
The Got Vape Promo team took off a couple days earlier and started the journey through Northern California, Oregon, and finally Seattle. Along the way, we managed to stop by both the Vapir and Volcano Vaporizer headquarters to grab some product for the Hempfest.
The drive up was smooth sailing for the most part. While driving through cities like Sacramento, Oakland, Fresno, Eugene, Portland, and Berkeley, we met fans that knew about Got Vape already.
Numerous cars would roll by us on the road, flag us down, and tell us how cool the van was. We told them to call in to the office and say they saw the Got Vape Van driving for a special discount off our Vaporizers!
We met one girl driving a white Lexus that had an original red Got Vape lanyard. She got next to the van and our Rep Russ tossed her a new Pink lanyard, it made her day!
By noon on Friday we made it up to Seattle and we had to set up for the show at 3pm. This allowed us time to hit up the shops in town.
Shops like Piece of Mind, Broadway, University Smoke Shop, and Still Smokin always smile when the Got Vape crew comes to town because they can pick up Vaporizers on the spot.
Check-in was really quick this year. The Got Vape Van was one of the first cars in line, so we were able to pull up to our premier spot by the main stage. The Stone Village was the place to be at since it’s in a heavy traffic flow area, in the middle of the event.
In under an hour, the Got Vape promo crew set up the Got Vape tent, sails, banners and tables. After that the crew had some time to meet with the other vendors at Hempfest. We decided to wait until the morning to put the vaporizers on display.
By sponsoring the Hempfest, Got Vape was able to have maximum exposure at the event. We had banners up in all of the prime locations, including the main stage area.
As the first day of the Hempfest approached, thousands of people were waiting in line for the show to start. Got Vape banners were covered all along the entrance way while they walked into the park.
The foot traffic at the Got Vape booth was insane! People were rolling up saying that they could see the Got Vape sails from a mile away. Everyone that cruised into the booth received a bunch of SWAG, which included stickers, lanyards, and Got Vape Health brochures.
At the Hempfest, customers wait an entire year to be able to buy a vaporizer from Got Vape. These people know that Hempfest is were they can get the best deal possible on our many Got Vape vaporizers.
The show wrapped up on the first day at 8pm. It took the Got Vape Crew only 20 minutes to load up the Got Vape Van. We headed back to the Westin to celebrate a solid first day.
On the second day, we posted the Got Vape Van again in a sweet location. The van was on the main street towards the Hempfest entrance. People walking down towards the event saw the Got Vape Van shining on the street
By 10am, the Got Vape booth was popping all over again. It’s very exciting to see adults ranging from 18-75 stopping by the booth because it shows that our Vaporization message is reaching our target audience.
The Got Vape promo crew made sure to talk to everyone that was at the booth. We also spent time meeting familiar vendors and speakers participating in the event.
I had a chance to speak with SSDP head Kris Krane, www.ssdp.org, about the vaporization movement.
“I feel like Vaporizers are really catching on because of not only the effectiveness but also the health benefits that have been reported.”
Mr. Krane also added, “For years I have watched Got Vape grow, I’m extremely proud of you guys for pushing the positive Health message of Vaporizers within the community.”
Over 250,000 people attended the Hempfest over the weekend. There was a huge demand for our top rated units like the Extreme, Vapor Warez, Hot box, and Air One 5.0.
By the end of the show, we almost sold out of vaporizers!
