Scam Artist: How does it feel to be the
headliners here at the beautiful Seattle Hempfest?
KottonMouth Kings (Daddy X): It feels great
man. We're always available to show our support
and love for the right causes. The KottonMouth Kings
are totally behind it. We work with NORML, and we
support HIGH TIMES.
I mean Marijuana is a plant. What more can be said.
Why don't they make tornadoes illegal if they want
to condemn nature? It's totally insane and then
when it's used for medical use, they ignore the
law and keep fucking with people.
Scam Artist: Do you feel our government
criminalizes its citizens by continuing to prohibit
marijuana use when in actuality the government is
playing the role of the criminal?
KottonMouth Kings (Daddy X): Man it is so
obvious that our government does that. We are living
in a world where we watch the news and see the military
machine is cranking out missiles and weapons of
mass destruction.
This is completely acceptable yet a plant that
grows naturally isn't. I mean if a cop busts through
my front door with a gun because a guy is sitting
on my couch smoking some herb from a fucking plant,
who's the real criminal?
The creator would think that the guy forcing all
this brutality onto others is the fucking criminal.
Scam Artist: How do you feel about Capitol
Records your previous home in the music industry?
KottonMouth Kings (Daddy X): It was sort
of a volatile situation at Capital. I mean KottonMouth
Kings sold 800,000 records over at Capital with
no help from them.
Kotton Mouth Kings momentum is not going to be
stopped by something like that. We had people over
at Capital that didn't even want the KottonMouth
Kings to make our last record.
We were like such a sore thumb over there at Capital
Records because we're not like Radiohead or Coldplay
or any of the stuff they understand or promote.
Scam Artist:: How would you describe
the KottonMouth Kings new Album?
KottonMouth Kings (Daddy X): The new album
touches on hip-hop, rock, and punk. We just tried
to make a record without boundaries and in doing
that; this record took on a life of its own.
When we make a KottonMouth Kings record, we try
not to limit or restrict ourselves in any direction
we wanna go. We just wanna make sure everything
is together with the lyrics and the beats, so that
it's tight.
Scam Artist: At last years Smokeout in
Los Angeles a few of the KottonMouth Kings came
back to our Got Vape RV and used the Inspector Vapors
vaporizer. Tell the fans what you thought?
KottonMouth Kings: Damn I remember that
barely (laughing). I just ran into Tilo and he said
he wanted me to hit it before I got onstage and
I tell you what it hits like a champ.
I was feeling so good onstage the vibe was set
right. I had to pick one up to bring on tour with
us. I mean we blaze with every method, but vape
hits take you to another level.
Scam Artist: Before you go, what message
do you want to send out to the KottonMouth Kings
fans?
KottonMouth Kings (Daddy X): The KottonMouth
Kings message at the end of the day is just to enjoy
life. Maximize each and every day you're alive,
enjoy and respect the people around you, your planet
and these amazing gifts such as music and marijuana.
