One feature that makes these coils stand out from the rest is the Adjustable Liquid Feed (ALF), which allows the user to control how quickly the e-liquid flows into the coil. This is ideal for those who frequently change the viscosity of the liquid they are vaping, or those who enjoy both PG and VG compositions.
These Smok VCT A1 coils come in both 0.5 ohm and 1.2 ohm resistance ratings. It is important that you only use the sub-ohm coil if you have a device capable of delivering the necessary power output. Devices capable of outputting at least 20W are recommended for sub-ohm coils. Using a sub-ohm coil with a battery that doesn't support such wattage can damage both the tank and the battery itself.
The coils are exceptionally easy to change out, as well. First, detach the tank from the battery component. Be sure the tank is relatively empty, and be careful not to spill any of the remaining e-liquid. Unscrew the base of the tank, and in the center you'll see the old coil head. Unscrew the old coil, and install the new coil by screwing it in place. Tilt the tank at an angle to refill with e-liquid, since the angling prevents liquid from entering the center tube. Reattach the base of the tank and the battery to the tank. Let the device rest for several minutes before use to ensure the coils become saturated with the e-liquid. Failure to do so could cause burning in the wicks. It is also recommended that these coils be primed with a few drops of e-liquid before they are installed to help the saturation process. While some moderate knowledge of personal aromatherapy devices is presumed here, these repairs and installations are quite simple. The User Manual also provides a description of how to properly install these coils.
Because of the nature of these tanks, they should never be allowed to dry out. In fact, a tank that uses a coil like this should never go below 1/3 full, or it can cause leaks due to excessive pressure inside the tank. With average use, these coils should have a lifespan of 2-3 weeks.
