Bangers

A banger is the quartz bucket that replaces a bowl on a dab rig. You heat it with a torch, let it cool to the right window, then add concentrate.

Match the rig's joint: usually 14mm or 18mm, male or female, at 45 or 90 degrees. Check the existing piece before ordering, since these are not interchangeable.

Quartz for flavor and predictable heat, which is why it is standard. Titanium for durability and fast heating. Ceramic holds heat longest but recovers slowly.

Around thirty seconds with a single jet torch, less with a triple. Then let it cool thirty to sixty seconds. The cool down sets the temperature, not the heating.

Chazzing is the cloudy discoloration quartz develops when it is overheated or left dirty. It is largely permanent and it dulls both flavor and heat transfer.

Swab it warm after every dab, before residue carbonizes. Avoid heating it red hot repeatedly. Most chazzing comes from cleaning too late rather than heating too hard.

A terp slurper draws material through slots at the base, which keeps it moving and extends contact with the hot surface. More flavorful, more parts to clean.

Flat tops heat evenly and suit terp pearls. Round bottoms pool concentrate toward the center, which helps with small dabs.
