Dry Herb Vaporizers

A dry herb vaporizer heats ground flower to release its active compounds as vapor without burning it. Because there is no combustion, you get vapor rather than smoke and considerably more flavor.

Between 350F and 400F covers most preferences. Lower settings bring out flavor with a lighter vapor, higher settings produce a denser draw. Start low and step up through the session.

Convection heats more evenly and tastes better because hot air passes through the flower rather than touching it. Conduction heats faster and costs less. Hybrids combine both and are increasingly common.

Medium. Too coarse and heat cannot reach the middle of each piece. Too fine and it packs down, blocks airflow and pulls through into the vapor path. Fill the chamber without compressing it.

Far less than smoking, and the smell fades much faster because there is no lingering smoke. It is not odorless, but it does not carry or settle into fabric the same way.

Brush the chamber after each session while it is still warm. Soak the mouthpiece and screens in isopropyl weekly. Residue in the airpath is the usual cause of restricted draw and poor flavor.

Portables suit anything away from home and most are good enough now that the gap has narrowed. Desktops like the Volcano deliver more vapor, more consistently, and are built for sessions with several people.
