Tundra Vape Review
I just picked up my new Wulf Mods Tundra Vaporizer and I can't put it down! This portable vape has 3 temperature settings, but I using prefer the medium temp setting, I just hold down the power button and it allows me to adjust between temps. The first level has a red indicator light on the bottom, then green in mid level, and blue is the highest setting. Battery lasts me around a full day of use, while the usb charging option is a plus! Compared to other vapes at this price point, I'm glad I chose my Tundra Vape.
The tundra produces dense vapor at 380, but it has warm vapor and the mouthpiece at full temp. I also own a ascent which produces great flavor and isn't hot, although the ascent doesn't produce as dense vapes as the Tundra. Overall this is a nice small portable vape for the money.
I purchased this on a special buy so picked one up at a low price. Read a lot about it before I received it and some complained about a plastic taste. I started my vape on the highest setting with no -hb- in there and let it run for a while just to somewhat burn it in. Haven't experienced the taste after that. Remember that vapor begins at about 160 so I let mine heat for maybe a minute then start drawing on it while it's heating up (have mine at the medium temp). The taste is amazing, maybe you won't see any vapor as you exhale but you'll taste it and trust me this method works. Keep drawing until the taste changes and you're done. What I've noticed is the effect isn't immediate but within 5-10 minutes it will hit you hard. I've found this method to be really effective in getting the maximum benefit from using this vape. Also the mouthpiece can get pretty warm since it's close to the heating chamber, you can use the included extended tip to alleviate the problem or I've also used 2 of the plastic mouthpiece covers which helps
When tis worked it was a great product. The downside was filling the chamber. In the video it showed you how to pop the mouth piece off of the body and then fill it with your material. I found this to be cumbersome as you had to literally force the top off of the unit - - - did not pop off like the video demonstrated. After about a month the element in the mouthpiece just snapped. So now I have a useless piece of gear and I am out a bunch of money.
I've had a Tundra for about 1 and a half months. I really like some aspects of this portable vape. The bowl is a great size and the unit produces tasty vapor. The charge lasts and it charges in a reasonable time. You can heat the vape while it is charging. On the other hand is the CAP. When you first get the Tundra the cap is hard to remove but as it is used it becomes looser and the plastic cracks. I've gone through 2 caps so far. The screen unit inside the cap was the first problem. The housing fell out of the cap. Soon the edges of the cap started to crack and then the plastic fell apart. I thought I might have damaged it and reordered another one. The next cap lasted a week and the same damage occurred. When the Tundra works properly it is a really nice vape but I can't recommend it until the cap is redesigned.
If I could give this vaporizer a zero, I would. I don't understand all these other reviews. I honestly purchased this particular vaporizer bc I trusted the reviews I read. Cons: the temperature settings do not make any sense, the lowest setting doesn't produce enough vapor, middle and high setting get way too hot for any user to use the normal mouth piece. This vaporizer should be taken off the shelves. I'll just stick to the volcano.
I like it, a lot. I use the blue light setting which is the hottest, which takes about a minute to heat up. Good quality vapors, you can put a good amount of material in there. The only thing is that the mouthpiece heats up and the air itself that you breath in can get hot. I use the included extender stem which out's a little more distance between you and the hear source. That being said, for the price and portability, it's really good. And I got it during the 'back to school sale' so it only cost me $60. Back to school, yeah right...
It's was soooo good while it lasted! I had mine for about four or five months until it broke where the charger input is. I went to plug in the charger and the input part fell into the pen! Since I can no longer charge it, I can't use it :( I hope mine was just a fluke, looking at other options to replace vape.
I had mine for a few months and the heating piece broke off the cap. I was able to manage for a while until it stopped charging. I think a fuse inside went out but it's a dud now.
i have had my wulf for about a month and a half, and so far, it is an effective portable vaporizer. i appreciate that it has the three temperature settings, and i find the middle setting best for true vaporizing. would love if it had more temp settings like the puffit does. each charge gives me a good duration of usage, and i find it easy to use in all ways. if you find it gets too warm for you with the smaller mouthpiece, i suggest using the longer mouthpiece, and you shouldn't have as much of an issue with that. also, i love that it is available in red.
I've been wanting a vaporizer for about two years but I could never find something that could accommodate my expectations and my budget....and then I found the Wulf Tundra. I was back home and was with a friend so we decided to check out some -sk- shops. We went into one and the lady at the desk (who had amazing service) brought it would after I asked to see their vaporizers. 2 month later I got it and nothing has been the same. This vaporizer has been all I ever wanted: easy to use, effective, portable, and it looks cool! You really get your bang for your buck with this one. All I do is fill the chamber, put it on 320 (red) and I'm good; 5 puffs is good to get you started if not set. Best thing is that the smell is not detectable (it smells like forest air freshener) and it's easy to conceal. The only reason why I gave the Tundra stars is because nothing in this world is perfect. The charge is not bad if you don't use it all the time, I just wish that you could charge it and use it simultaneously. The mouthpiece does get hot even on 320 if you let it sit for a while with or without the silicone covers. That's all that I can find wrong with this thing so that should tell you something! It is a great buy and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a healthy -al- to -smk-. This vaporizer made me reconsider what I like better: rolling papers or vaping. I also get more out of my -hb- as well, so in the end I save money.
I'm an avid -sk-r/vaper. been at it for quite sometime so I've dealt with a lot of different pieces. Over time I found vapor to be smoother, richer, and not hack-your-lungs-out-the-next-day awesome. That being said, I have named mt Wulf Bruce Banner because when your turn him on he gets angry, and brother you're gonna love him when he's angry. No time at all for a full charge, the three easy to use settings, the massive chamber that holds waaaaaaaaayy more than I thought it would (don't over pack kids). easy cleanup and a solid draw that just ever-so-gently kisses your lips with flavor foreshadowing the rabbit hole you're about to experience. Hits like a bowser, tastes like a champ. definitely my number one vape.
I have gone through 4 caps since I bought this vape. The plastic starts cracking after about 2-3 weeks of use. The unit works fine and has good vapor and I would recommend the product if it weren't for the defective top.
I do not know what is happening but after a week or so, when I turn it on from full charge the red light comes on and then blinks and the unit shuts off? Am I doing something wrong. Have a three because I am not sure if I did or am doing something wrong.
So, we took the owner's recommendation and dropped $90 on this piece of non-functioning crap!!!When we tried to trade it in since it would not hole hea5t consistently we were told to 'F*** Off!'. Don't honestly know if it would work or not since ours clearly DOESN'T WORK and we can't get a replacement.
Just got one on 12/8/2014 not sure if this is a different batch but it never charges properly and last two minutes before it dies out.when it works not much comes out complete waste of money looking for a refund
Wulf Mods Tundra Vaporizer Mouthpiece broke after a month of using it. replacement part is atleast $12 plus $40 shipping. having too refill the pen is a chore, find a better vaporizer on ebay if you can people.
Functions well, cleans easy: very affordable, but I expect A short life due to pushing the button '10 times/session'. It could last many 100's of uses: but 10x3x30 days=900 button pushes A month or 10,800 button pushes A year for 3 daily sessions. 5 pushes seems A built-in failure plan? I should know more in some months. Will review again in 6 mo or when button fails; whichever comes first?? Buttons are designed to fail 1st in many things, computers, cordless vac etc.
This unit is ok. Unfortunately I bought this product due to the reviews boasting about thick vapor and it just does not deliver unless it's on the highest setting (420 F) which makes the vapor way too hot. This can be alleviated if run through a bubbler but then that makes it way less portable and detracts from the ease of use.If you can afford the original DaVinci Vaporizer (not the Ascent which is lackluster and hugely overpriced) then it's your best chance of getting a quality all-around vape that you can take anywhere. So far, I haven't found anything that can top it.
I absolutely love this ‘gadget’...
Every time I use it, I feel like I’m stuffing gunpowder into a muzzle loader,
Even a brush to clean out the ‘barrel’.
But why no ‘bud scooper’ I ask…? There is everything else...Screens, tips, mouth pieces and a brush. So i ask, why not a scooper as well. It would then be perfect!
Auto-Off is a engineering gift handed down from Vulcan himself-
I’m never worried about burning my apartment down.
Had a Hot Box for years, and was always scared.
This vap does double duty awesomely:
Both as A) A desktop vape. And, B) A portable vape.
Both are done exceedingly well.
This unit is so easy to use that it makes vaping pot too convenient.
So, I'm stoned everywhere I go now… awesome.
Very efficient chamber on this Wulf, no wasted bud. Very evenly ‘cooked’.
Its a little tight on air flow for my tastes, I wish the carb was more open.
I'm a pro, so you know, I need the control.
But this is minor. The air flow rate(diameter of opening) is well enough.
I love that it can be used while charging!! A bonus!
Temp setting do matter-
Moisture content of the bud matters too-..
How resin heavy or sticky, effects burn too in my experience.
Use higher setting, faster draw, for moist or resin heavy bud;
Like Sour Diesel.
Use lower settings, slower draw, for drier or less resin dense bud;
Like Pineapple Express for example.
Screen seems to be doing well so far against sticky bud. Its staying clear and easy to clean. A nice bonus here, and marks for ease of use.
Don't over pack. Stay on the loss side.
NOTE: Do others do this?
There are essential two screens, one front on mouth piece, and one rear, in the chamber wall itself. So in theory, you can draw OR blow into the chamber without bud loss, yes?.
So, I've made it a practice to every so often, blow into the chamber gentle, as to roll the bud around, and also, to clear the screen. Its works well. But obviously, don't blow you bud away. Duh.
This is a veteran move.
Heats very fast.
Holds heat well, but can be overdrawn if you're a fiend.
Those buttons do glow though!! Like Rudolph’s nose. So watch the po po at night. Or use it as a safety light, and wave it around.
Another gem to add to this device… a tone or chime, that goes off when chamber temp is good.
So when i leave it to make tea, I know when to walk back and hit it, awe yeah!
5 stars. A win win here folks!
Got this little unit the other day and have been spoiled on it since... With three temp settings your sure to find the one that fits your needs best, I prefer 420 degrees myself... It gives off some gnarly vape clouds and I have seen it lean a few people against a tree... If your looking for the best bang for your buck, this is it... Have already recommended to friends...
three temp settings are nice . you really do need to play with them to get your dry to be completely spent . I do the green setting for a few minutes then blue to finish. mouth piece does get hot but that's why they gave tip extensions
Got this vape at a local store. Very easy to use, heats nicely, although use more than 3-4 sessions on the high setting really drains the battery fast. Main problem for me was after about 3 months, where the screen chamber attached to the mouthpiece cracked (mouthpiece is plastic). Not sure, but this may be a result of how the top is opened. When you open the vape, the now-loose screen chamber is resting on top of the heating chamber and there is no real way to fix it because glue fails at high temps. It can be used without the screen chamber, but you have to be really careful not to suck in herb.
I am using my second one. This vape has not met my expectations, twice the cap has chipped around edges and inside the cap making a poor fit, making poor heat-up action equals minimum satisfaction. I am sorry to have to review this product poorly. I was told they were working on updating these problems to me when they sent me a brand new one supposedly better constructed, etc... Positive they did not charge me for the new one and got to keep all the accessories. I will order another cap but look for a better constructed one and will give GOTVAPE another shot to advise me on this.
I own the following vaporizers: DaVinci, Pax2, Puffit, Genie, MiVape and my ultimate favorite the Wulf Classic Dry. There is however a problem with the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece is cracking where the metal housing for the screen attaches to the plastic. I hope you are working on a fix for this problem because this is a great vaporizer!
This is my first portable dry herb vaporizer. I own a Volcano also. I have mixed feelings about the Wulf Classic.
The good-it is portable and could pass for an E-Cig. It has a bunch of nice accessories, like multiple silicone mouthpieces and extra screens. Feels solid and well made.
The bad-the battery is not good. I get 3 sessions before I feel like I need to charge it. Takes 2 hours to charge after the initial 4 hour charge. The instructions are not spot on. It tells you to click twice to change temps, but I have to hold the button down, not click it. I read it takes 90 seconds to get to operating temp-I keep mine on 420 and it takes more than twice that amount of time for the light to turn green telling me it's ready. The screen on the mouthpiece gets clogged easily.
I got mine on a fantastic sale so I'm satisfied. For the MSRP of $60, I don't know. I've had friends use their shatter and wax vapes and those seem to work better. But that's probably a function of shatter/wax versus dry rather than the vaporizer itself.
I had given this a 3 star review because of the battery. I finally gave the battery a chance at the beach and it worked like a champ. This is a very good dry herb vaporizer. Discreet, and good battery life.
I think this is the easiest vape to use. I got it down in 10 seconds flat and now I'm living the high life (my friends are too). I dig the red color one but my friend got the black and its cool too.
The Wulf Mods Tundra is a nice little entry level vaporizer but I really can't give it a glowing review for someone who wants big, rich clouds. Removing the cap to fill the bake oven, it simply did not want to come off easily. The unit does heat up rather quickly and has a nice sized oven. Again, for the price it's OK.
Before I give a review, I spend some time with the item. In my vape history, I've had some products that started out great but after a short time failed. The Puffit is a good example of that. It's a great stealth, take along anywhere item, but I found them not to be reliable and both of my Puffit's malfunctioned only a couple weeks after their first use. So, the folks at Got Vape recommended I try the TUNDRA. I was weary because the TUNDRA is manufactured in China and I've had not so good experiences with vape's manufactured in China. However, it was a great recommendation. Let's go over some of the operational things; The overall ease of this unit's operation is flawless and effortless. The unit fits comfortably in your hand, it's fairly compact so it can be somewhat concealed. There are two lights on it that are visible, especially at night. These are indicator lights and can be positioned in your hand so they are not visible to others. One light is an on/off indicator. The unit is turned on and off by clicking this button five times. The unit will turn on and the light will at first appear red. Once the proper unit temp is reached, the light will turn green. The other light indicates which of the three temperatures the unit is set to. First is red, the lowest setting 360 degrees. Hold the on/off switch down for five seconds and this temp indicator light will turn green which is 380 degrees. Hold the on/off button down again for five seconds and the indicator light will turn to blue. Blue is the units highest operating temp at 420 degrees. This all can be down with one finger operation keeping in mind the unit fits my hand quite comfortably. To load the unit, the top pops off. It is a little hard to pop off, but not an issue. It provides a tight fit which is what you want. Over time we'll see if it loosens? The oven provides space for a good bit of -hb-. I gauge this as enough to go through three cycles, a cycle being a few puffs and turning the unit off, about five minutes. So far, the battery seems to hold a good charge and the unit operates through about three full cycles plus. The equivalent of one full 'bowl' or oven full. Recharging time is so-so, about two to three hours. The unit can be charged in a car with the correct adapter. Make sure unit is off. Plug in recharger cable and on/off switch will light red. When unit is charged, light will turn green to indicate it is fully charged. The unit heats up fairly quickly, not immediately to temp. but it gets to temp in about a minute or less. The unit produces a rich and fulfilling draw. Many personal, hand-held vapes cannot produce. the TUNDRA produces and produces well. That is a huge plus and shoots this review to a definite five stars.Unlike every other hand held unit I've had, the TUNDRA unit does not get hot and remains at a comfortable temp in your hand. The unit includes a cleaning brush, screens, and a total of four mouthpieces, two small silicon tips and two flexible larger tips. It does not include a carrying case which would have been a nice plus.
I've owned a desktop easy vape for almost 2 years now, figured it is time to upgrade to a portable vape. I ended up going with the Tundra because it has up to an hour of portability and I can choose 3 different temperature settings. I like it on the middle setting because I get around 15 draws per fill. The USB charger is cool because if I lose it, I can use the one from my smart phone. At the price, I am certainly happy with my purchase.
This thing smells like plastic/chemicals, even after running it empty a few times. There is no way that I am going to risk my health using this thing. You get what you pay for.Do yourself a favor and stick with a reputable company that has a track record for safety when purchasing a vaporizer.
love it got mine at hempfest 2014 in Seattle. they wanted 120 for it but if I really wanted it they would let me have it for $80 so I say so you will take 40 for it right..... got mine for 50 USA bucks
Made the leap into buying the wulf vape classic vaporizer and haven't looked back. This product is amazing, it shipped fast within days and came with everything you could need. The heating and temp settings are just right. Happy with my purchase and would buy again as a gift.
Got the hang of the classic vaporizer within minutes. its great for starters cause of the 3 settings mode. My dad wanted to try it and right away it was simple to use for him. Those wanting a quality and good price unit, WULF MODS is the way.
Was curious why this was only returnable if the package was unopened. Shouldn't it be returnable if it doesn't work? It's a starter kit so don't expect much. Cheaply made. Works well so far. Hopefully, the battery and heating element last a long time.
This is by far the best product that I have ever purchased! That is saying a lot because I have purchased a lot of crap lol! This vape is just what I wanted! The size of it can be intimidating just as long as you know how operate it, you will have no issues.
If this device was available 5 years ago I could have saved myself hundreds and hundreds on inferior devices. From the first use this device has been bomb as hell
I was a little apprehensive with purchasing a vape online, but delivery was very fast & the product is amazing. Literally the best vape I’ve purchased thus far & I’ve gone through 3 different types in the past. Very satisfied.
It's a lot bigger than I imagined, but still easy to carry around. Hits hard, heats very well, brings out much more flavor than any other vaporizer I've had. Definitely the most expensive one I've ever had too, but it's been worth it! Wish I bought it sooner.
Picked up my Tundra Vape from my doctor's office, it was reassuring to see a live demo of it working before making my purchase! The tundra is cool because I can choose between 3 temps, personally medium level is my favorite. Each vape bowl lasts for around 5 minutes at a time & I can simply recharge it with the micro usb with my laptop. For the price, I'm very happy with my purchase.
